Wing foiling on the inland lakes
Scattered across the country lie inland lakes and recreational waters that do not belong to a coast or the IJsselmeer area, but that are excellent for wing foiling: from the Tjeukemeer in Friesland to the lakes around Utrecht and the sand extraction lakes in the east. The difference from kitesurfing lies in the regulations: on inland water kitesurfing is generally forbidden unless there is a separate kite zone, while windsurfing and wing foiling are allowed. That makes these often places where you can wing but not kite. Expect sharper gusts than at sea, and check per lake whether local or nature-related restrictions apply.
