Where other apps only hand you numbers, Windulu gives you a straight answer. For each of the 142 spots in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and France you see, hour by hour, whether it is go, marginal or no-go, whether you kitesurf, wing foil or foil, with the size you would grab right beside it, tuned to your weight, your skill and the kites or wings you already have in the shed. When the wind blows offshore, from the land out to sea, the advice is always no-go, because then you get pushed out to sea if something goes wrong. So you no longer have to jump between Windguru, Windy, the webcam and the group chat full of everyone’s opinions; one glance tells you whether it is worth loading up.
The forecast comes from the finest weather model per country (AROME, ICON-D2 or HARMONIE), topped up with live measurements from national weather services such as KNMI, DWD and DMI, and because you stand on the water and do not read from the beach, Windulu deliberately reads the sea cell of the model. Want to know exactly how that advice is built? Read how Windulu works, or work out your size with the kite size calculator. Just starting out? learning to kitesurf helps you on your way, and if you are curious where you can ride today, have a look at southwest wind and the other wind directions.
